USB4 Version 2.0 with 80 Gbps bandwidth announced

The USB4 Version 2.0 specification specifies data transfer rates of up to 80 Gbps over USB Type-C.
That's double the USB4 Version 1 standard and twice the Thunderbolt 4 standard.Image source: pixabay.comThe USB Promoter Group announced today the upcoming USB4 Version 2.0 specification, which provides up to 80 Gbps of throughput over a USB cable with a USB Type-C connector.
The USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery (USB PD) specifications will also be updated to provide faster data transfer speeds.
The specification updates are expected to be released by November of this year when the USB DevDays developer forum takes place.
