Earlier this month there was already a leak regarding the Ryzen 5 5600H six-core processor. It was rumoured to have a base frequency of 3GHz and up to 4.1GHz in Turbo mode. However, fresh data discovered by whistleblower TUM_APISAK suggests that the processor will be noticeably faster. According to Geekbench results, the Ryzen 5 5600H chip will have a base frequency of 3.3GHz with automatic overclocking to 4.24GHz. The processor has been tested in the TIMI Notebook, which is apparently the codename of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600H performance (Geekbench)

Compared to current generation Ryzen 5 4600H, it showed 37 % faster performance in single threaded mode and about 18 % faster in multi-threaded mode. The main competitor to these chips is now the 10th generation Core i7-10750H, which Intel will again use in fresh relatively inexpensive laptops based on GeForce RTX 30xx. According to Geekbench performance figures, AMD's new six-core CPU turns out to be 20 % faster than Intel's solution and 3 % faster in single and multi-threaded tests respectively.

Apparently, Ryzen 5 5600H will be slower in single-threaded mode than the Core 11th generation solutions of Tiger Lake-H family, which are expected to be released next year. In particular, quad-core Intel Core i7-11370H is 14 % faster in single thread processing than Ryzen 5 5600H, but slower in multi-thread computing.

Recent comments from AMD executives give us hope that the mobile Ryzen processors with Zen 3 architecture will be unveiled early next year. They are known to us under the codename Cezanne, a sample Ryzen 7 5800H model has already left its mark in the Geekbench 5 database as part of the Acer Nitro laptop.

As usual, the entry in this open source was stumbled upon by famous researcher TUM APISAK, who shared his discovery on Twitter. AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor, according to the source, contains eight multi-threaded processing cores that run in the frequency range from 3.2 to 4.45 GHz. From third-party sources know that the computational cores generation Zen 3 should coexist in this processor with built-in graphics generation Vega, and the production of such processors should be the current version of the 7-nm technology. As you can see, the laptop is equipped with 16 GB of memory type DDR4-3200, and AMD support DDR5 in the mobile segment before 2022 is unlikely to implement.

As a direct predecessor of the specified model Cezanne can be considered Ryzen 7 4800H processor generation Renoir, which is equipped with eight cores with frequencies from 2.9 to 4.2 GHz. In terms of supported memory Cezanne shows no progress, the difference in performance levels may be due to the upgraded graphics subsystem, the transition from the Zen 2 architecture to Zen 3, as well as an increase in frequencies of computing cores at 250–300 MHz. Geekbench's database of test results from a similarly configured Ryzen 7 4800H-based notebook suggests that the successor delivers a 20 % increase in performance.

Cyberpunk 2077 launched on portable console Aya Neo with AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor

Chinese company Aya has shown that on its portable gaming console Aya Neo based on a hybrid Ryzen 5 4500U processor (Zen 2, Renoir) it will be possible to play Cyberpunk 2077. In the published video the console was able to demonstrate performance at 28–36 frames per second.

As in the video contains adult content, we can not publish it in this article. But, most likely, we are talking about the minimum values of image quality.

Recall that the Aya Neo is equipped with a 7-inch IPS-display, which has a resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels, which is standard for most mid-priced tablets. Since the console has no discrete graphics gas pedal, for rendering images on the screen responsible six cores Radeon Vega, integrated six-core processor Ryzen 5 4500 (up to 4 GHz) and running at 1500 MHz. It should be noted that the designated chip is far from the most productive solution in the AMD Renoir series and is equipped with not the most productive integrated graphics. The processor is claimed to have a configurable TDP from 10 to 15 watts. The chip is assisted by 16 GB RAM of LPDDR4-4266 standard.

The video description also states that the 47W·h battery of the console is enough for about 2.5 hours of playing Cyberpunk 2077. The Aya Neo is already available for pre-order in China. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not yet said whether it intends to release the console to the global market. The price of the device is set at 3999 yuan ($605) for the Founders Edition version with 512GB of SSD. The 1TB model will be offered for 4,599 yuan ($756).

AMD Ryzen 5 4600H Review

Pretty soon laptops should appear on the shelves of stores on AMD Ryzen 4000 series processors of the Renoir family, presented at the beginning of the year, and leaks about these CPUs are becoming more and more common. This time the mid-range processor Ryzen 5 4600H was seen in several 3DMark tests.

The most affordable in its lineup Ryzen 5 4600H, has an advantage over competitors’ price tags. Various benchmarks indicate that only the relatively more expensive Core i7-10850H can compete with this price/performance CPU.

The high-performance AMD Ryzen 4000 mobile hybrid processors have been on the market for some time and we've already seen some of the reviews on different members of the series. However, the lion's share seems to be well deserved by the top two products, Ryzen 7 4800H and Ryzen 9 4900H/HS.

Ryzen 5 4600H Specifications

Now we have a chance to take a look at what Ryzen 5 4600H is - the junior among 45-watt APUs of the new line. This is a six-core processor with SMT support. We have a 3.0 GHz base clock speed along with a 4.0 GHz max boost. And Vega 6 GPU handles the graphics tasks for your system. The TDP level of Ryzen 5 4600H is 45 W, and it is designed for gaming notebooks of medium price category. However, it would be a lot better to choose notebooks with discrete powerful GPUs rather than leaning on the integrated Vega 6, especially when it comes to gaming. So, probably we will be seeing Ryzen 5 4600H notebooks with discrete GPUs. AMD traditionally doesn't name wholesale prices for mobile processors, but Ryzen 5 4600H is clearly more affordable than its older counterparts.

In conclusion, Ryzen 5 4600H would contribute a lot to powerful and affordable entry-level to mid-range laptops.

AMD Ryzen 5 4600U Review

AMD Ryzen 5 4600u is a 6-core 12-threaded AMD mobile processor built on 7nm Zen 2 architecture. It belongs to the “Renoir” series. It was launched on 1/6/2020. So, it’s a new member of the family. The entire line of Renoir CPUs has a high-performance 7 nm Vega graphics core. This way, the CPU is capable of providing good performance in high-end games, yet, better performance occurs when the games are on low and medium graphics settings. Therefore, with a TDP 10-25W, which is relatively lower, the 4600u delivers truly slim solutions without the need for massive cooling, in terms of physical size.

Notebooks based on AMD Ryzen 5 4600u are quite versatile and can solve both home and business segment tasks, as well as the average gaming tasks as we mentioned above. Ryzen 5 4600U is totally competent to compete bravely in its own market segment.

In various game tests published online, Ryzen 5 4600U is more powerful than 3500U by 40% to 70%, in terms of game processing, which makes it the preferred choice when purchasing a mobile CPU for gaming requirements.

Overall, The notebooks with the Ryzen 5 4600U processors are useful devices for those who need a high-performance notebook in their work-related tasks like MS Office or it may be considered a relatively inexpensive, mid-range gaming device.

If you are looking for a notebook with any Ryzen 4000 Renoir processor for games, consider devices with discrete graphics cards such as GeForce NX150, and MX250 wouldn’t be wise choices. Because the integrated graphics core will be more powerful than both.
