ASUS has introduced two new Republic of Gamers (ROG) branded gaming laptops - ROG Strix Scar 17 SE and ROG Flow X16.
The first offers as a basis Intel Core processors of 12th generation Alder Lake-HX series, the second is based on the latest AMD Ryzen 6000 chips with Zen 3+ architecture.

It features 8 high-performance and 8 power-efficient cores.
The maximum power consumption of the processor itself is 157 watts (the nominal TDP is 55 watts).
The laptop can also be equipped with 64GB of DDR5-4800 RAM and two 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs, working in RAID0 mode, which will provide sequential read speeds of up to 14,000 MB/s.

AMD has officially unveiled the Ryzen 6000 family of Rembrandt mobile processors. The series includes eight models of high-performance Ryzen 6000H series for powerful gaming notebooks, as well as two energy-efficient Ryzen 6000U models for thin and compact laptops. In addition, the manufacturer announced a series of mobile processors Barcelo, which are updated Cezanne (Ryzen 5000U).

Ryzen 6000 (Rembrandt) mobile processors are built on the updated Zen 3+ architecture and use a new 6nm manufacturing process. The youngest model of high-performance Ryzen 6000H processor is Ryzen 5 6600HS. The processor has six processing cores with support for 12 virtual threads, as well as 19 Mbytes of cache memory in the second and third levels. In the Ryzen 6000 series processors, AMD has finally abandoned the built-in Vega generation graphics. The chips now use RDNA 2 graphics architecture. The frequency of the integrated graphics processor and the number of graphics cores depends on the model of the processor. If the junior chip Ryzen 5 6600HS involved six graphics cores with frequencies up to 1.9 GHz, the flagship Ryzen 9 6980HX model has twelve graphics cores running at up to 2.4 GHz. The manufacturer claims for the new processors up to 40% lower power consumption for video streaming, up to 30% lower consumption in video conferencing applications and up to 15% lower power consumption for browsing. As for the performance of the integrated graphics, it is up to three times higher in games than direct competitors and up to two times faster than the previous generation of Ryzen 5000 mobile processors, according to AMD. Single-core and multi-core computing performance of Ryzen 6000 processor models is up 10–30% higher than the previous generation. The support of LPDDR5 memory up to 6400 MHz and DDR5 memory up to 4800 MHz, PCIe 4.0, USB4 (40 Gb/s), HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.0 readiness, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth LE 5.2, AV1 video encoder support is claimed for these processor-based notebooks. Notebooks based on AMD Ryzen 6000 processors will be available in February of this year; There are three models of mobile processors Barcelo series on the architecture Zen 3, built on a 7-nm process technology: eight-core Ryzen 7 5825U, six-core Ryzen 5 5625U and quad-core Ryzen 3 5425U. AMD Rembrandt processors will use the new FP7 processor socket, which has the same size as the FP6 (25 × 35mm). Well-known insider Patrick Schur has estimated that the chip area of the new processor should be about 208 mm.

According to Wccftech portal, new flagship mobile AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor will be based on 6nm Zen 3+ architecture and will be equipped with integrated RDNA 2 graphics. For the latter the manufacturer is going to use the new marketing name Radeon RX 600M. Directly in the flagship model of the chip will be used graphics core Radeon RX 680M.

At the moment, it is unknown how many Compute Units (CUs) will be present in the «embedded» Radeon RX 680M. However, for the Rembrandt series processors themselves, which will include Ryzen 9 6900HX, rumors attribute the presence of up to 12 CUs. The Ryzen 9 6900HX processor itself is expected to get 8 processing cores with support for 16 virtual threads, 16 Mbytes of L3 cache memory, and 4 Mbytes of L2 cache memory. Since the chip will belong to the HX series, this means that its maximum power consumption (TDP) will be higher than 45W. However, the choice towards one or another TDP value will depend on laptop manufacturers. The processor is also attributed a maximum clock speed of 4.6 GHz. This is similar to the current mobile Ryzen 9 5900HX model. Mobile AMD Ryzen 6000 will get support for DDR5-4800 standard RAM. Nothing is yet known about the support of DDR4 standard RAM. According to VideoCardz, earlier rumors also said that AMD is going to release new desktop hybrid 65W processors with RDNA 2 graphics in the third quarter of next year. We can assume that the integrated graphics of the desktop APU variants will also get new names. The mobile Ryzen 6000 is expected to be announced at CES 2022. AMD has scheduled a press conference for January 4.

First tracks of upcoming Ryzen 6000-series mobile chips codenamed Rembrandt were found in UserBenchmark database. The AMD processor, codenamed 100-000000518-41_N, made its appearance here. The chip operates in the frequency range from 3.9 to 4.1 GHz.

The fact that the copy belongs to the new generation of mobile processors is indicated by the fact that it uses the FP7 processor socket, which, according to rumors, will appear just with the new 6nm Rembrandt processors. In addition, the specified OPN code of the processor has not been noted anywhere before, which also hints at the fact that the UserBenchmark database has the first information about one of the representatives of the upcoming generation of mobile APU from AMD.

According to the test results, the said processor scored 111 points in the single-core test, 222 points in the dual-core test and 740 points in the octa-core test. Thus, in its current state, it is slower than the current Ryzen 7 5800H generation Cezanne, which scores about 132, 256 and 875 points respectively in the same tests. Together with the code of the processor in the database also marked the identification number (1CFA 0004) of its integrated graphics core on RDNA 2 architecture, which was accompanied by 512 MB of RAM. The processor was used as part of some Corsair system codenamed Xenomorph. What this device is & ; it is unknown. Perhaps we are talking about a PC model, as the company is not engaged in the production of laptops so far.

The information also reports that the system used a single Corsair DDR5-4800 memory module with CL40 timings as RAM. AMD Rembrandt & ; expected APU series for mobile gaming and workstations on Zen3+ architecture, which will be produced using 6nm process technology.
