AMD has reduced prices on Ryzen 7000 processors in Europe, they also became cheaper in Russia

AMD has reduced prices on the latest Ryzen 7000 desktop processors in Europe.
According to VideoCardz, several European stores have discounted some chips with Zen 4 architecture to more than €180.Image source: AMDThe 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X, released less than two months ago, now sells for €699 instead of €849 euros.
The 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X has dropped to €550 from its starting price of €699, and the eight-core Ryzen 7 7700X is now offered for €410 instead of €479.
The youngest in the series, the six-core Ryzen 5 7600X is available for €300 instead of €359.AMD Ryzen 9 7950X price in Europe.
Image source: Check24 Image source: GeizhalsIt is curious that the Ryzen 7000 chips have also gone down in price on the Russian market.
However, since the processors in Russia are supplied by parallel imports, it is likely to be a difference in exchange rates, rather than the desire of AMD to make their new products more accessible to the Russian buyer.
Source image: \"Citilink \"So, in \"Citilink\" the cost of the boxed version of the 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X fell from 56,990 to 50,990 rubles.
The eight-core Ryzen 77700X is offered for 38,990 instead of 45,590 rubles.
And the junior six-core Ryzen 5 7600X model can be purchased for 29,390 instead of 32,590 rubles.
Only the price of the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X has not changed.
It can be purchased for 68,990 rubles.
These processors in OEM version are also available at DNS.
Only Ryzen 5 7600X model is available at OnlineTrade for now.
Some models are also available in the store \"Regard\".Updated: The German store MindFactory managed to find Ryzen 7000 processors with even more affordable prices.
For example, the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X can be ordered there for 639 euros.

AMD prepares for further revenue decline - PC market situation will improve only in 2023

AMD quarterly conference revealed that the company's revenue in the consumer segment on the background of declining demand for new PCs decreased by 40% compared to the same period last year.
At the same time, the trends in which the market is developing at the moment are not so unambiguous as to characterize them by any single definition.
It is only clear that now the market is falling, but recovery is not far off, believe AMD.Source image: AMDFirst, AMD CEO Lisa Su (Lisa Su) explained that revenue in the client area in the third quarter decreased, among other reasons, due to lower number of processors sold.
Their average selling price also declined in a sequential comparison, as more expensive processors were depleted faster in terms of inventory.
In year-on-year comparisons, the average selling price went up, and this can be explained by the continuing tendency to shift the focus towards more expensive models.
The head of AMD even added that the company's position is strong in the premium, gaming and corporate customer market segments, and it expects to strengthen its position in these areas going forward.
In the long term, the price structure of AMD products supply in the client segment should not change, as the head of the company is convinced. As noted earlier today, AMD management expects to reduce the number of computers sold in the whole market by 20% this year, and next year's decline will be limited to 10%.
The company will continue to actively get rid of inventory in the fourth quarter, and this process is somewhat accelerated in a sequential comparison, and in general by the end of the year AMD will be in better shape, but it should be understood that the revenue in the current quarter slightly reduced in the client segment, as well as in the gaming.
In the latter case, such dynamics can be explained by the fact that the peak demand for components for gaming consoles occurred in the third quarter, and in the fourth quarter it traditionally declines.
New gaming video cards with RDNA 3 architecture, which will be presented this week, though will be able to revive the market in the fourth quarter, losses from the decline in demand for game consoles components will not be able to cover.
But next year AMD expects to maintain revenue in the gaming segment at the level of the current year, which, given the high base effect formed by the last stages of the cryptocurrency boom is quite optimistic. In general, speaking of the PC market, AMD management expects to overcome major problems in the current quarter and early next year, and the rest of 2023 should already contribute to the PC market recovery, according to Lisa Su.
In the customer segment, she promises to introduce some new products (most likely the new Ryzen 7000), which, combined with the recently announced Ryzen 7000 processors, will help revive interest in the brand's products. Moreover, at retail, even in the third quarter, sales volumes of Ryzen 5000 processors grew, according to Lisa Su, but only when it comes to desktop models.
With the expansion of the range of motherboards with socket AM5 more affordable models in the current quarter will increase the popularity of the new family of Ryzen 7000 processors, as the company's management expects.
AMD is not ready for the aggressive pricing policy for the sake of reducing the inventory, because it is important for it to maintain the profitability indicators.
Last year, for example, the company did not fight for the segment of Chromebooks, because it was based on too cheap processors, the release of which was unprofitable for the company.

AMD investigates reports of abnormal Ryzen 7000 performance in some games on Windows 11 PCs

AMD has released a statement about abnormal performance variations in the Ryzen 7000 processors in some games when running Windows 11 compared to running Windows 10.
The company itself noted that it has not yet registered any performance variations in some games depending on the operating system, although complaints do come in.Image source: Resul Kaya/unsplash.com \"We are currently investigating, but based on testing so far have not found a significant difference in gaming performance depending on the OS versions in different work scenarios and with different games,\" AMD reported.
According to experts HotHardware portal, they have not observed any anomalies in reviews of Ryzen 9 7950X and 7900X, instead, experts noted the benefits of the new architecture Zen 4 compared to Zen 3.By the way, an interesting feature of these processors is that the second chiplet off (CCD - Core Chiplet Die) can even improve performance in some games.
This difference is clearly demonstrated by the example of Metro Exodus, running on a PC with Ryzen 9 7950X running Windows 11 22H2.Image source: CapFrameXAccording to AMD, such things happen quite regularly and may indicate, for example, the need for software optimization.
For a fresh platform, which is the Socket AM5, and the new architecture (Zen 4) it is normal to have some problems at first - the main thing is to have them solved later.
\"Many factors affect gaming performance, including game engine, processor architecture, graphics gas pedal and memory choices.
As new architectures come to market, there are often performance anomalies that must be addressed by the component vendor or game publisher.
This is not a new or unexpected phenomenon,\" the company said.Additionally, AMD said that as anomalies are identified, the company will share information about them with ecosystem partners and game developers so that they can properly optimize their products.

Ryzen 5 7725HS mobile processor on Zen 2 architecture has marked in Geekbench

The eight-core and 16-thread Ryzen 5 7725HS mobile processor on Zen 2 architecture has marked in Geekbench synthetic test database.
The software has determined that the chip belongs to a series of Renoir, writes VideoCardz.
The name of the processor also indicates that it is based on the architecture of Zen 2.
This is interesting, because AMD has not talked about the appearance of a similar model in the mobile Ryzen 7000 series.Image source: VideoCardz According to Geekbench data, the Ryzen 5 7725HS processor has a base frequency of 2.9 GHz and can automatically overclock to 4.3 GHz.
The suffix HS in the name of the chip indicates that it is designed for light gaming laptops.
The processor was tested with the Eluktronics RP-15 laptop without a discrete graphics subsystem.
In the single-threaded performance test Ryzen 5 7725HS scored 1106 points, in multi-threaded - 6929 points.
Image source: GeekBenchThe results of Ryzen 7 7725HSAs VideoCardz writes, it would be fair to compare this chip with the Ryzen 7 4800HS Renoir series, which also uses the Zen 2 architecture and eight processing cores.
In addition, the latter also has a TDP at 35W, like the novelty.
The obvious difference between the chips is the maximum clock speed, which is 4.2 GHz in the Ryzen 7 4800HS, which is 100 MHz lower.
Taking all this into account, the Ryzen 5 7725HS is 6 and 6.5% faster in single-threaded and multi-threaded performance, respectively, than the Ryzen 7 4800HS.

AMD will release 10-core Ryzen 7 7800X and 4-core Ryzen 3 7300X - new products have made a mark in Geekbench test

The Ryzen 7000 processor family should be updated with several new models in the foreseeable future.
Yesterday it was reported that data about Ryzen 7 7700 model appeared in Geekbench synthetic test database.
Now in the same database marked the Ryzen 7 7800X and Ryzen 3 7300X models, which are also not included in the first wave of AMD desktop processors on the architecture Zen 4.Image source: AMDThe Ryzen 7 7800X model has two more cores compared to its predecessor Ryzen 7 5800X.
Thus, the novelty could become the first AMD Ryzen desktop processor with 10 cores and 20 threads.
According to Geekbench, the chip can automatically overclock to 5.4 GHz and has 64 MB of L3 cache memory on board, which is twice as much as the Ryzen 7 7700X.
But that's not surprising, since the 10 cores are recruited using two chipsets, while the Ryzen 7 7700X has only one octa-core chip.
Image source: GeekbankshThe processor was tested on a Gigabyte Aorus B650 motherboard.
The Ryzen 7 7800X scored 2,097 points in the single-threaded performance test and 16,163 points in the multi-threaded test.
In terms of multi-threaded performance, the novelty in its current state is about 15% ahead of the Ryzen 7 7700X.Ryzen 7 7800X results.
Image source: GeekbenchThe Geekbench database also revealed information about the quad-core and eight-threaded Ryzen 3 7300X model.
According to the benchmark, this processor is able to automatically overclock up to 5.0 GHz and has 32 MB of L3 cache memory.
Image source: GeekbankshThe quad-core and octa-core Ryzen 3 7300X in the single-core test scored 1984 points, and in the multi-threaded performance test - 7682 points.
This chip is capable of delivering a clock speed of 5GHz in auto overclocking.Ryzen 3 7300X results.
Source image: GeekbenchWe should keep in mind that the Geekbench tests most likely involved engineering samples of processors, which may differ in frequency characteristics and power consumption from the final consumer versions.

The yet-to-be-announced AMD Ryzen 7 7700 processor has made its first mark in the Geekbench synthetic test database.
The chip has eight physical cores with support for 16 virtual threads, and its clock speed reaches 5350 MHz, probably in automatic overclocking.Image source: AMD Recall that AMD introduced only four desktop models within the new Ryzen 7000 series: the 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X, the 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X, the eight-core Ryzen 7 7700X and the six-core Ryzen 5 7600X.
Surely in the future the company is going to dilute the range of the series with younger models, as well as solutions without the suffix \"X\" in the name.

Recall that Ryzen 7000 processors are supported without overclocking and faster DDR5-5200 memory.
According to test data, the chip base frequency is 3.8 GHz, which is 700 MHz lower than the Ryzen 77700X model.
Power consumption of the new item is 65W, which is lower than that of the Ryzen 7 7700X, which has 105W.

Enthusiast showed how to reduce Ryzen 7000 temperature by 10 degrees without resorting to scalping

AMD Ryzen 7000 processors are equipped with a very thick (3.6 mm) heat spreading cover.
This is done to make the new chips compatible with older cooling systems designed for Socket AM4.
At the same time, the thicker cover makes the processors hotter because it transfers the heat from the chip to the cooling system worse.
Enthusiasts are looking for different ways to solve this problem and now a relatively safe one has been proposed.Image source: YouTube / JayzTwoCentsOne of the extreme methods to combat the high operating temperature of Ryzen 7000 processors is scalping.
As experiments have shown, the method can reduce the temperature of the same Ryzen 9 7900X from 90 to 70 degrees Celsius, that is as much as 20 degrees.
However, this process is very risky because the CPU is easy to damage both when removing the cover, and when using it later in a \"naked\" form - it is not difficult to chip the crystal.
In addition, any such manipulations with processors will deprive the user of the warranty.
The popular technology blogger JayzTwoCents suggested another solution.
Scalping is not used here, but using this method will also automatically void the warranty of the chip owner.
The technoblogger reduced the thickness of his Ryzen 9 7950X processor cover by 0.8 mm with a grinding machine.
As a result, the operating temperature of the chip decreased from 94-95 degrees Celsius to about 85-88 degrees Celsius with all its cores running at 5.10 GHz.
Overclocking all cores to 5.40GHz resulted in a temperature increase to 90.65 degrees Celsius.
All temperature readings were obtained with the use of the VSF.To \"modify\" the cover of the Ryzen 9 7950X processor the technoblogger used a special frame, in which the processor is placed before the procedure.
This way the chance of damaging the CPU was reduced.
The frame was developed by the famous enthusiast Roman \"Der8auer\" Hartung.
It has a certain height at which the chip cover has to be ground down.
In addition to the processor, the enthusiast had to modify the screws of the cooling system so that they allowed to fix it at the right height.
This process requires a lot of patience, a steady hand, a grinder and an understanding of what you're doing.
But as a result, you can expect a 7-10 degree Celsius drop in processor operating temperature.
Again, both of these methods will void the owner's warranty on the processor.
In addition, they are designed only for enthusiasts. For ordinary PC users, the best choice to combat high CPU temperature would be to choose a larger computer case with additional fans and a more efficient CPU cooling system.

First AMD B650-based motherboards showed up in US store - the cheapest one costs $200

Only the flagship chipset X670 and X670E motherboards are offered for AMD Ryzen 7000 processors, which are not so cheap yet.
In the near future, more affordable AMD B650 and B650E motherboards will be available for sale.
But even among them, it may be difficult to find a budget model.
American retailer B&H Photo Video has published prices of several B650-based motherboards, starting from $200.
MSI MPG B650 Carbon WIFI has the highest price among the reviewed models at $329.99.
At the same price you can find solutions based on the older AMD X670, albeit with basic equipment.
On the other hand, MSI PRO B650M-A WIFI is the cheapest amongst the devices announced by the retailer with a $199.99 price tag.
Of course this is not the full range of new motherboards even from MSI itself - obviously there will be a version of the MSI PRO B650M-A without Wi-Fi module and it will be cheaper.
But don't count on a significant difference.
On average, the price is about $250.
Models are available in Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX and ATX form factors of the MSI PRO, MAG and MPG series.
MSI MEG flagship series will feature only AMD X670 and X670E boards. At the end we should mention that AMD itself at the time of Ryzen 7000 processors and Socket AM5 platform announcement in August announced that the motherboards price for new chips will start from $125.
We would like to add that AMD B650 and B650E motherboards are expected to be announced on October 4.

AMD processor plans: Ryzen 7000 with 3D cache will be released soon, and Threadripper and APU on Zen 4 - by the end of next year

AMD has shared with partners plans for desktop processors in 2022-2023 - a \"road map\", not intended for the public, appeared on the web.
Judging by the presented plan, AMD intends to continue releasing Ryzen 5000, 4000G and 5000G processors under Sunset AM4, and the powerful Ryzen Thredripper 5000 will not get successors until the end of 2023.AMD plans to introduce a new generation of high-performance desktop processors, which will replace the current Ryzen Threadripper 5000, only by the end of 2023.
Their name, as well as details about the characteristics, are not specified.
According to previous rumors, the new items were codenamed Storm Peak, and will probably go on sale as Ryzen Thredripper 7000.
We can assume that these processors will get Zen 4 cores, DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 support, and other Ryzen 7000 features. Also, AMD will continue to produce and sell Ryzen 5000 and 5000X3D processors in parallel with the new Ryzen 7000 at least until the end of 2023.
Also, AMD's slide confirms that the company is preparing Ryzen 7000X3D processors, which will be equipped with additional 3D V-Cache.
Note that Ryzen 7 5800X3D is currently the only desktop processor with extended 3D V-Cache.
And it is one of the company's fastest solutions for gaming, overtaking in some cases even the newly released Ryzen 7000.
So maybe the release of Ryzen 7000X3D processors will allow AMD to strengthen its position in the gaming area. Finally, AMD plans to update Ryzen G-series desktop hybrid processors, which feature quite productive integrated graphics, by the end of 2023.
They will probably join the Ryzen 7000G series and offer a combination of Zen 4 cores and RDNA 2 or RDNA 3 graphics.
At the same time AMD will continue to produce the current desktop hybrid Ryzen 4000G and 5000G processors, even after the release of new products.
Thus it turns out that at least until the end of 2023, the Socket AM4 platform will not lose relevance.

Ryzen 7000 gets hot because of the thick cover - scalping reduced the temperature by 20 degrees

Ryzen 7000 gets hot because of the thick cover - scalping reduced the temperature by 20 degrees

Reviews of Ryzen 7000 processors showed that they are very productive, but at the same time very hot chips.
For example, the flagship 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X in tests heated up to 94-95 degrees Celsius, and in games - up to 76 degrees Celsius.
At the same time, at peak load the processor can consume up to 247 watts of power.
Decrease the operating temperature of new AMD processors is possible, but with a very risky procedure of scalping (removing the metal cover).Image source: Der8auerGerman enthusiast Roman Hartung, known under the pseudonym Der8auer, decided to check whether the situation with temperature indicators will improve by removing the heat spreading cover from Ryzen 9 7900X.
The method turned out to be effective, but dangerous.
The processor was successfully scalped and installed into Socket AM5 with a special frame instead of the standard mounting mechanism, which allowed to use a conventional liquid cooling system with the \"bare\" CPU.
A model with 360mm radiator was used.
Enthusiast recorded the frequency of all Ryzen 9 7900X cores at 5.4 GHz.
The CPU temperature under load was only slightly higher than 70 degrees Celsius, while with the cover the temperature reached 90 degrees.
This difference is due to the large thickness of the cover.
An additional advantage of scalping turned out to be the reduced power consumption of the chip by about 15W due to its lower temperatures.
This allowed the enthusiast to overclock all cores by an additional 100 MHz, reaching a frequency of 5.5 GHz.
To remove the lid from the processor Der8auer used a prototype of a special tool for scalping by shear method.
A production model of this tool should be available later on the market.
It should be noted that this method of temperature reduction will not be suitable for most users.
Firstly, it is risky.
There is a chance of damaging the processor, as Hartung demonstrated at the end of the video.
Secondly, it will deprive the processor owners of the manufacturer's warranty.

For this price and they went on sale in this country.
Novelties can be found, for example, in Newegg and on Amazon.
However, in other regions the final price will be different, higher, and will also depend on the retailer.Image source: CaseKingIn Europe, for example, the novelties are priced more expensive.
The older Ryzen 9 7950X is offered for €849, the Ryzen 9 7900X model is priced at €699, the Ryzen 7 7700X got a price tag of €479, and the Ryzen 5 7600X model - €359.Image source: MindfactoryThe prices of motherboards for Ryzen 7000 processors are different and the range is not large yet.
However, over time, the choice should expand.
According to major U.S.
retailer Newegg, offers start at $260 for the most affordable board models, such as the ASRock X670E PG Lightning model.
The most expensive offer at the moment is ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Extreme board, which is estimated by the same store at $1000.
However, as previously reported, there will be more expensive offers.
For example, the MSI MEG X670E Godlike board is expected to be priced at $1300.
Image source: Newegg For the European market the variety of motherboards is scarcer yet.
Their prices range from €329 (including 19% VAT) for the same ASRock X670E PG Lightning and up to €840 for the Gigabyte X670E Aorus Xtreme.

The first reviews of Ryzen 7000 processors that began to be published yesterday weakly touched on the built-in RDNA 2 graphics, which is present in all AMD next generation chips.
The manufacturer itself has previously confirmed that the Ryzen 7000 \"embedded\" is not intended for gaming, but only for basic tasks.
HotHardware and TechPowerUp portals have looked into whether this is really the case.
It turns out that you can play games on the \"embedded\" of the new Ryzen.Image source: HotHardwareFirst, let us remind you that the embedded graphics is part of the chiplet with output interfaces.
It is made according to the 6-nm process.
The basis of the graphics core is a pair of RDNA 2 blocks, which together have 128 stream processors.
The clock frequency is 2200 MHz.
According to journalists, the integrated graphics in Ryzen 7000 processors is really not suitable for playing modern games.
Especially when it comes to gaming titles that rely heavily on graphics performance.
They refuse to run at an acceptable level of performance even when using minimum quality settings.
For example, Middle Earth: Shadow of War, as well as Watch Dogs: Legion and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.Raster performance \"embedded\" processors AMD new generation is at the level of graphics cards Radeon HD 4850, Radeon HD 5670 or Radeon HD 7730 and not too far behind the Radeon R7 250.
These are very old video cards released more than 10 years ago.
The GeForce MX150 and Intel UHD 750 are also cited as examples with comparable performance.
In the first case, the performance is almost the same, in the second, AMD graphics are \"slightly faster\".
But you shouldn't expect more from two RDNA 2 computational units, working at 2200 MHz.
At the same time, new AMD Ryzen 7000 integrated graphics handles old and not too demanding games.
Battlefield V, Unreal Tournament, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Starcraft II, The Elder Scrolls (including Skyrim) and thousands of other classic gaming titles should run on \"embedded\" without problems.
Especially in reduced to 720p resolution.
It is also noted that the graphics cope well with platformers, including modern.Running more or less modern games on the built-in graphics Ryzen 7000 processors is also possible.
For example, HotHardware tested it in games such as Minecraft, Neon White, Prodeus and multiplayer Risk of Rain 2.
In all of them, the Ryzen 7000 \"embedded\" showed a \"normal level of performance.\" Fortnite was not left out either.
We ran it at 1080p resolution with DirectX 11 on medium settings.
Under these conditions, the game averaged 30 frames per second.
Reducing the resolution to 1600 × 900 pixels increased the average FPS score to 50, and by lowering the settings even more, the game was able to achieve more than 60 frames per second.
Despite this, journalists would not recommend the Ryzen 7000 chip's integrated graphics as a permanent gaming solution.

Ryzen 7000 reviews are out: much faster than its predecessors, but unlikely to overtake Intel Raptor Lake

Tomorrow AMD will start selling Ryzen 7000-series processors, which not only bring the new Zen 4 architecture, but, more importantly, the new Socket AM5 platform.
And today specialized resources have published reviews of new processors and here we give only the main results of the tests.
In brief: the new products are much faster than their predecessors and can compete with Intel Alder Lake on an equal footing.
But will this be enough to compete with Raptor Lake in the future? But first, let us remind you that AMD has now introduced four new generation processors: the six-core Ryzen 5 7600X, the eight-core Ryzen 7 7700X, the 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X and the 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X flagship.
All of them use Zen 4 cores and are made according to the 5-nm process technology.
The new platform brings a LGA socket called Socket AM5, as well as support for PCI Express 5.0 and DDR5 memory. All reviewers note a significant increase in both single-core and multi-core performance compared to Ryzen 5000-series processors.
The processors in many (but not all) synthetic tests and applications Ryzen 9 7950X and Ryzen 9 7900X were faster than Core i9-12900K.
And in some places the current Intel flagship was even behind the Ryzen 7 7700X.
Synthetic test and applications 01.jpg See all pictures (12) 02.jpg 03.jpg 09.jpg 04.png 05.png 06.png 07.png 08.jpg 10.jpg 11.jpg 12.jpg See all pictures (12) On the other hand the junior Ryzen 5 7600X was ahead of Core i5-12600K without any surprises, but it did not make any bigger claims.
But, to be fair, we should note that in some applications even the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X was weaker than the Core i5-12600K.
But those were isolated cases.Games 01.jpg See all images (17) 02.jpg 03.jpg 04.jpg 05.jpg 06.jpg 07.jpg 08.jpg 09.jpg 10.jpg 11.jpg 12.jpg 13.jpg 14.jpg 15.jpg 16.jpg 17.jpg See all images (17) For gaming tests, you can see some differences between reviews.
So, according to The FPS Review, in most games Ryzen 9 7900X and Ryzen 5 7600X prove to be weaker than Alder Lake chips including Core i5-12600K, and also inferior to the \"gaming king of AMD\" of the last generation - Ryzen 7 5800X3D.
But the difference turns out to be quite insignificant.
Similar results show the novelties in the hands of TechPowerUp.
And Tom's Hardware reports that on average in games only overclocked to 5.1GHz Core i9-12900K chip is able to compete with the new AMD Ryzen 9 7950X and Ryzen 5 7600X.
With standard settings AMD novelties are faster.
Note also that not in all games the flagship is faster than other AMD novelties.
As you can see from the table below, Ryzen 7 7700X is better than flagship in many gaming tests from ComputerBase.
Even more interesting is power consumption of Ryzen 7000-series processors.
We should point out that new Ryzen 9 CPU's TDP has been increased to 170W, compared to 105W of their predecessors.
In turn, the new Ryzen 7 and 5 got TDP of just 105W.
As a result, at full load Ryzen 9 7950X consumes 247W, and Ryzen 7 7600X - only 99W.
In games, consumption is much lower on average.
In all cases, the new Ryzen consumes much less than competitors - the same Core i9-12900K is able to \"eat\" up to 285 watts.
But compared to its predecessors Ryzen 5000 series, consumption has increased.
At the same time Ryzen 7000 turned out to be quite hot.
At maximum load with a powerful air cooler Noctua NH-U14S Ryzen 5 7600X temperature was 88 °C, while Ryzen 7 7700X, Ryzen 9 7900X and Ryzen 9 7950X reached 94 °C.
At the same time in games the figures were more acceptable: 70, 71, 76 and 76 °C, respectively.
Here we should also add that automatic overclocking mechanisms, if the cooling system allows, are able to raise Ryzen 7000 frequency above standard values - for example, when cooling with a 280mm cooler I managed to achieve a peak frequency up to 5.85GHz.
But on average gaming frequencies keep around 5.5GHz, which is much higher than its predecessors.
In the end we would like to say that tomorrow Intel will unveil the Core 13th generation processors.
According to rumors and leaks, they may be much faster than the current models of the 12th generation.
So, the fact that AMD has caught up and slightly overtook (not everywhere) Intel Alder Lake processors may not be enough to successfully compete with the upcoming Raptor Lake.
Whether this is true, we will find out quite soon.

All Ryzen 7000 processors were tested in Cinebench and compared with Ryzen 5000 - performance increased by 13-42 %

Test results of AMD Ryzen 7000-series processors in popular benchmarks Cinebench R15, R20 and R23 was published by VideoCardz resource.
Moreover all four currently presented AMD Ryzen new generation models are tested without overclocking.
Earlier this week flagship Ryzen 9 7950X showed its capabilities in the above mentioned tests, but only with overclocking.
In one case, the chip was overclocked to 5.35-5.5GHz with a liquid cooling system with 280mm radiator, and in the other, to 6.45-6.5GHz using liquid nitrogen for cooling.
In both cases, this allowed to update the specified test records for 16-core processors. Now the test results of all presented AMD new generation processors are published, viz: 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X, 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X, eight-core Ryzen 7 7700X and six-core Ryzen 5 7600X.
All of them are based on Zen 4 architecture and are made using a 5-nm process.
All mentioned processors have been tested with default settings on advanced motherboards with AMD X670E chipset and DDR5-6000 RAM.
In its turn, Ryzen 5000 were tested with DDR4-3200 memory.
As we can see, all new products increased significantly compared to their predecessors.
Single-core performance increased by 13 to 28% depending on test and processor.
As for multicore performance, the fact that Ryzen 9 7900X outperforms Ryzen 9 5950X, despite smaller number of cores, is immediately striking.
The gain depending on the chip and the test was between 26 and 42%.
Of course, these are only a few synthetic tests, and we will be able to get the full picture only in a few days, when the processors go on sale, and profile resources will publish reviews.

AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors have not yet gone on sale but are already actively setting new records in various benchmarks, as evidenced by HWBot ratings.
Earlier this week it was reported about four records set by Ryzen 9 7950X with liquid cooling, and now Tom's Hardware writes that some of those records have been surpassed - with Ryzen 9 7950X and liquid nitrogen. For starters, let us remind you that Ryzen 9 7950X with Corsair H115i liquid cooling system with 280mm radiator enthusiasts managed to overclock all 16 cores to 5.35-5.5GHz.
This allowed them to update 16-core processor records in multi-threaded benchmarks such as Cinebench R23, Cinebench R20 and Cinebench R15 as well as in the 7-Zip archiver test.
Now AMD Ryzen 9 7950X flagship is overclocked even more, but in extreme conditions with liquid nitrogen.
In multi-threaded Cinebench R23 test AMD processor was overclocked to 6.45GHz and gained 48,235 points, 16.2% over the maximum score of Core i9-12900KS, also overclocked with liquid nitrogen.
On the other hand, Ryzen 9 7950X overclocked to 6.5GHz in Cinebench R20 test and achieved 18,605 points.
This is 15.8 % more than the previous best result achieved by liquid nitrogen cooled processors (Ryzen 9 5950X to 6 GHz).We should note that obviously more record updates are waiting for us in the near future, as it usually happens with the release of new generation processors.
Ryzen 7000 will be released on September 27.
Also in the second half of October we expect the release of Intel Core 13th generation processors (Raptor Lake), which will also compete for new HWBot ratings records.

AMD Ryzen 7000 processors are expected to be released next week.
The range of recommended prices for the new items, depending on the model, ranges from $299 to $699.
But in Europe, it seems, the chips will cost significantly more.Image source: AMDThe Professional Review found new Ryzen 7000 processors in the database of one of the Spanish retailers.
There they are priced between €371 and €852 depending on the model.The flagship 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X is priced at €852 (recommended $699), the 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X at €699 (recommended $549), the eight-core Ryzen 7 7700X at €491 (recommended $399), and the junior six-core Ryzen 5 7600X at €371 (recommended $299).
Image source: XtremMedia.comThe significant difference in processor prices is partly due to the current currency conversion rate.
The cost of the euro is almost at parity with the dollar.
In addition, you need to add value added tax, which is 21% in Spain, as well as a few euros in the form of profit of the store itself. It should be noted that in the same Spanish store 16-core Ryzen 9 5950X model on the Zen 3 architecture is offered much cheaper.
Still the current flagship is given for €564, which is €288 cheaper.
For this difference you can easily find a very good motherboard with Socket AM4 socket.

AMD: optimal memory for Ryzen 7000 is DDR5-6000

AMD: optimal memory for Ryzen 7000 is DDR5-6000

AMD Technical Marketing Director Robert Hallock in the company's official Discord channel said which memory configuration would be the most optimal for the Ryzen 7000 series processors.
From his point of view it is DDR5-6000, but there are nuances.Image source: AMDThe technician said that the best choice of DDR5 memory for enthusiasts will be modules with a speed of 6000 MT/s (million transfers per second).
By \"best choice,\" Hallock means the option that offers the best cost, stability, performance, availability and ease of use.
In addition, he recommended that users use two RAM modules because four, while supported, would make signal routing difficult, compromising maximum performance.AMD previously confirmed that the Ryzen 7000 processor series officially supports DDR5-5200 memory for peer and dual-peer configurations with one DIMM module per channel.
With two DIMM modules per channel, the officially supported speed drops to 3600 MT/s:According to earlier rumors, X670 motherboards formally support a maximum FCLK (Infinity Fabric frequency) of up to 3000 MHz.
However, the default configuration is 1733 MHz.
Given Hallock's statement, users are allowed to leave FCLK in the AUTO position.
For the Ryzen 7000 series, the 1:1:1 frequency ratio for FCLK, UCLK and MCLK is not as important as before.
The main thing to pay attention to is the memory to controller frequency ratio - it is better if it is 1:1.
Successful Ryzen samples can overclock up to 2000 MHz in FCLK, but such configurations are not a priority for AMD.
In the originally supported DDR5-5200 mode, all three clocks will run at a 2:1:1 ratio and 1730:2600:2600 MHz.
