AMD processor plans: Ryzen 7000 with 3D cache will be released soon, and Threadripper and APU on Zen 4 - by the end of next year

AMD has shared with partners plans for desktop processors in 2022-2023 - a \"road map\", not intended for the public, appeared on the web.
Judging by the presented plan, AMD intends to continue releasing Ryzen 5000, 4000G and 5000G processors under Sunset AM4, and the powerful Ryzen Thredripper 5000 will not get successors until the end of 2023.AMD plans to introduce a new generation of high-performance desktop processors, which will replace the current Ryzen Threadripper 5000, only by the end of 2023.
Their name, as well as details about the characteristics, are not specified.
According to previous rumors, the new items were codenamed Storm Peak, and will probably go on sale as Ryzen Thredripper 7000.
We can assume that these processors will get Zen 4 cores, DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 support, and other Ryzen 7000 features. Also, AMD will continue to produce and sell Ryzen 5000 and 5000X3D processors in parallel with the new Ryzen 7000 at least until the end of 2023.
Also, AMD's slide confirms that the company is preparing Ryzen 7000X3D processors, which will be equipped with additional 3D V-Cache.
Note that Ryzen 7 5800X3D is currently the only desktop processor with extended 3D V-Cache.
And it is one of the company's fastest solutions for gaming, overtaking in some cases even the newly released Ryzen 7000.
So maybe the release of Ryzen 7000X3D processors will allow AMD to strengthen its position in the gaming area. Finally, AMD plans to update Ryzen G-series desktop hybrid processors, which feature quite productive integrated graphics, by the end of 2023.
They will probably join the Ryzen 7000G series and offer a combination of Zen 4 cores and RDNA 2 or RDNA 3 graphics.
At the same time AMD will continue to produce the current desktop hybrid Ryzen 4000G and 5000G processors, even after the release of new products.
Thus it turns out that at least until the end of 2023, the Socket AM4 platform will not lose relevance.

Dell has introduced Precision 7865 workstations based on Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000WX

Dell has announced Precision 7865 workstations based on Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000WX processors.
The chips have been used exclusively by Lenovo in its P620 workstations in the months since their release.
Dell will offer up to 64-core Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5995WX, up to 1TB of DDR4 RAM with error correction feature (ECC) and a choice of NVIDIA RTX A6000 or AMD Radeon Pro W6800 gas pedals for its systems.Image source: DellThe Precision 7865 workstation is 14 percent smaller than its predecessor Precision 7820, Dell said.
The manufacturer says it has paid very close attention to the new workstations' cooling, as well as their acoustics.
The new Precision 7865 uses a hexagonal airflow pattern to deliver fresh air directly to key system components.
For easy portability, the system is equipped with a handle. The front of the case is richly equipped.
This includes two quick-swap bays, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C connectors (one with PowerShare feature), two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A connectors as well as an SD 6.0 card reader and a 3.5mm audio combo jack.
An optional optical disk drive is also available.
On the rear panel there are two LAN ports (one 10 Gb/s), three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A and one audio jack.
One serial port is also provided.
Dell also offers Thunderbolt 3 connectors for the system, but their work is provided by an additional expansion card.
The set of video connectors depends entirely on the selected gas pedal.
Ryzen Threadripper processors have no integrated graphics, and the company offers a choice of NVIDIA RTX A6000 or AMD Radeon Pro W6800.
Each has a power consumption rating of 300W.
The system also allows you to install up to 56 TB of permanent memory via RAID arrays.
The capacity of DDR4-3200 RAM can be up to 1 Tbyte.
Everything runs from a 1350 Watt power supply with 80 Plus certification. The Dell Precision 7865 workstations will go on sale this summer.
The company did not disclose their price.
Taking into account the previous offers, it is likely that the price tag will start at $3000 in the base configuration.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3000-series hits retailers - up to 64 cores for $5489

AMD has announced the start of sales of its Ryzen Treadripper PRO 3000-series workstation processors. Previously, these chips could only be purchased as part of off-the-shelf workstations, but now they will be available in retail stores as a stand-alone product.

The manufacturer calls Ryzen Treadripper PRO the best processors for professional use. A total of three models will go on sale: the 64-core Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3995WX, the 32-core Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3975WX and the 16-core Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3955WX. Note that the youngest member of the series & ; the 12-core Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3945WX & ; will not be available at retail.

All listed processors are designed for the sWRX8 platform, which features support for eight-channel DDR4 memory (both regular UDIMM, RDIMM and LRDIMM) and 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes respectively instead of four memory channels and 64 PCIe 4.0 lanes in regular Ryzen Threadripper. Thus Ryzen Threadripper PRO is essentially a desktop version of the EPYC Rome server processors.

AMD recommends a price of $5489 for the flagship 64-core and 128-thread Threadripper Pro 3995WX, $2749 for the 32-core and 64-thread Threadripper Pro 3975WX & ; and $1149 for the 16-core and 32-thread Threadripper Pro 3955WX. We, on the other hand, only managed to find the new items at European retail for €5,499, €2,699 and €1,249 respectively.
